Hello, I am Krystle and Anchored By Hope LLC was a dream I never thought would come to fruition. Life threw me a lemon so I made lemonade and started this practice. I love boating and being around water the quote above is one of my favorite, from my favorite song You'll Be There by George Strait that reminds me of all those family members I have lost. This practice was also created to honor those I have lost, especially my Dad who was taken from us too soon.
I was born and raised in the Southern Indiana area even attending the University of Evansville where I received my bachelor’s degree in psychology. I decided I needed to obtain experiences out of the area if I was going to be the best therapist I could be, and moved to St. Louis where I attended Washington University in St. Louis to obtain my Master’s of Social Work (MSW), and I obtained my Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) credential in 2014. I am currently a Doctorate of Psychology (PsyD) student at Western Kentucky University focusing on applied clinical psychology. My goal is to eventually be able to provide comprehensive psychological evaluations and help even more people
I am trained in cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT; reframing your thoughts), Trauma Focused CBT (CBT for traumatic issues for use with children and youth until at 18), and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR). I have also had some training in sand tray therapy, play therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), animal assisted therapy, and some parent training. I also enjoy group therapy if I can get enough clients who would work well together. I have experience with those on the autism spectrum as well as intellectual disabilities. I also have experience working with the LGBTQ population.
I have twin boys and 6 dogs, and I also do dog training including service dog training.
Please contact me if you have any questions or want to determine if I would be a good fit as a therapist for you or a loved one.
